Dorota Łeweć has been diving since 1999.
A long-time SDI/TDI diving instructor and competitive freediver, she has many years of experience teaching at various levels of diving education. Today, her work focuses on the analysis of underwater behaviour, diving psychology, and the impact of autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and other aspects of neurodiversity on human performance and responses under stress. She is interested in the behavior of neurodivergent divers exploring caves and shipwrecks.
She is the author of Nurkująca kobieta (The Diving Woman), in which she introduced and advocated the Polish term “nurkini” — a feminine form of “diver” that has since entered common usage.
A passionate advocate for women in diving, Dorota also demonstrates through her own experience that maturity can be an asset rather than an obstacle in diving — including at the most demanding and extreme levels.
