As part of his scientific activities, Dr. Eng. Adam Olejnik was the manager and executor of many scientific and research works related to the technology of underwater work, especially the operation of hyperbaric facilities and unmanned underwater vehicles. His scientific specialty is underwater engineering photogrammetry used in vision research and identification of underwater objects, as well as the design and operation of unmanned underwater vehicles, and the theory of development of deep-sea technology.

The author will present the theories of the development of deep-sea technology in a hitherto unseen view and, using a concrete example, discuss issues related to mistakes in the interpretation of records in source texts on the history of diving.
