His main focus is reconstructive surgery of the knee and ankle. He is a strong advocate of a holistic approach to medicine – effective treatment is not just about putting in a screw, but about assessing the patient as a whole and understanding the relationships between hormones, age, metabolic parameters, and the underlying orthopaedic condition. Passionate about technology, he considers surgical robots and 3D printing his favourite operating-room toys. He is an instructor in surgical techniques and works with Lux Med Carolina Hospital in Warsaw and Lux Med Hospital in Gdańsk. In his spare time, he collaborates with the Polish Academy of Sciences on the development of new implants.
Once a diving instructor, he now dives purely for his own enjoyment, usually accompanied by his children. Recently, he discovered underwater photography and now bores his fellow divers by spending the entire dive hovering in one spot trying to get the perfect shot.
Since he claims to have nothing particularly clever to say about diving, he plans instead to bore the audience with a presentation entitled:
Title: Why Do We Age and What Can We Do About It?
He intends to spoil everyone’s mood by pointing out common lifestyle mistakes, encouraging healthier eating habits, and explaining why diving does not count as physical exercise.
