Phil started diving in 1990 from a background of dry caving that lead him to sump and then cave diving, from their a 3 decade career and passion have led him to work across multiple diving communities including Recreational, Technical, Scientific, Media, Research and Commercial. His projects and expeditions have lead him all over the globe on ancient and modern shipwrecks in Mines and Caves and in open ocean logging over 8000 hours in water with 4000 plus on Closed Circuit Rebreather his specialty. Phil is a CCR Hypoxic Instructor Trainer, Off Shore Air Commercial Diver, qualified Diver in the British Cave Diving Group and a Fellow of both the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) and the Explorers Club.

2024 sees the 60th anniversary of the Sealab Man in the Sea Habitat program and that era saw also the Conshelf programs, both among others place humans on the seabed for long durations in subsea habitats much as man now occupies the International Space Station orbiting Earth. Phil will introduce DEEP and their Mission to return Humans to the sea floor on the continental shelves in Habitat systems capable of long duration missions in up to 200 metres to study, understand and protect our Blue Planet.
